Hey Everyone!

Hey, hey everyone!

So this week was so busy, I really can hardly remember any of it. But I do have a story..

So we go out and are working all day. We go to a members home to have dinner and the member is giving us a ride home and I am going to get the house key out of my bag and I can't exactly find it and I said "Sister Burk, do you have the key?" and she goes "No you always have it.." so at this point I'm like... "Oh okayIi just must not have looked hard enough...." WRONG!!!! I cannot find the key anywhere... haha so yea, I finally come to the conclusion that I locked us out of the apartment...

So, Sister Burk isn't wearing a coat and we are both so cold and I was like we will just go over to the senior couple's apartment..(who live right across the street) and ask them for help. So Elder Donahoe goes and tries to get in with a credit card which of course doesn't work because it would've been just good luck right? hah so we ended up having to call the emergency number to have some guy come and unlock our apartment and sure enough....where are the keys....

I look up the stairs and they are hanging right there on the little hook.. haha so yea the Lord tested me this week that is FOR SURE!!!!  But opposition is good! haha It was just one more thing, but I am still happy and smiling. It is all good and great..you know why...? Because I am still a missionary, I love it and there is nothing quite like it!!!

Challenge for this week just be grateful for your opposition because there is absolutely nothing you can do about it sometimes. You just need to choose to be happy and smile to God and thank him for the opposition and let the challenges make you stronger!!:)

I love you all so so so much! I hope you all have a spectacular week!!!:::)))

Love, Sister Wilde

MISSIONARY WORK IS GREAT!

HEEEEYYYYYYYYYYY!

WOAH.....That is my only word for this week is woah...

As I said in my last email I am a trainer...yea I know, what were they thinking right?

I just got out of my training a little while ago so it is great. It is a little crazy but I love every minute of it. For anyone that is wondering, no I have not cried yet...I have however almost cried about 3 times but I just make myself laugh really hard, hahaha and then everything is great! I love being a missionary though so I have nothing to cry about!! I am on the Lords errand! And I love it so much!

Not a lot to report about this week! But I got my TRAINEE on Thursday! Her name is Sister Burk and she is from Arizona, but the mountain part so she gets snow. But, I know that it is nothing like the great state of Michigan snow!;) She is great, she makes me laugh haha, so it is pretty fun!

One cool thing that we did this week was we went up to Lake Isabella to Door Knock and NO ONE was answering the door. I was mad that no one was answering so I was like forget this, there are people ice fishing on the lake! So we are going on the frozen lake to PC (personal contact) these people ice fishing! So we went and Sister Burk was soo scared haha I could not stop laughing! There was a pretty good crack right down the center of the ice which was fun hahah but we got 3 phone numbers which was awesome!:)

Then this guy was not having our message, he was not interested all! But I was like "Hey would it be okay if I took a picture with all of your ice fishing stuff?" and he was like "YES THAT IS GREAT!" So there are some pictures of me "ice fishing" - I was being a fisher of men. ;)

Then last night we were talking to some other missionaries who said that we aren't allowed to do that, which I didn't know that was a rule. But I can't help but think that maybe those three people really needed our message! It was such a fun day!:)

This week I want you all to read Mormon 9!! I read it the other morning and it is such a good chapter of The Book of Mormon! I love the Book of Mormon it truly is the "BOM" Haha sorry lame joke... but it is great and I want you all to know that for yourselves!!! I love you all so so so so so much!!:) I hope you are doing amazing!

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

AHHH I'M A TRAINER!!!

Hello Everyone,

Yes, so the top is correct I am going to be training for the next two transfers!!! Ahhh! I have only been a missionary for 12 weeks myself! HAHA! I cannot even begin to express how excited and grateful I am to teach a to a new missionary! I am even more excited to follow the Spirit in this whole process of teaching someone how to be a missionary! I cannot wait to rely on the spirit now more than ever! I love being a missionary and I am going to love training!

So another Sister from the mission will be coming to serve with me in Mt. Pleasant until Wednesday, and then on Thursday morning we will drive down to Lansing to pick up our TRAINEES!!!!!!!!!!!

Sister Ensign has been called to be a Sister Training Leader up in Petosky! That is as close to the U.P. that they send Sisters! So that will be really fun for her, and I am happy for her! Although it is really sad to part ways with her, she will be amazing!

So when you are called to be an S.T.L you get your transfer calls the night before everyone else! And I didn't know that. So on Thursday night we were daily planning and the phone rings and she says...,"It is President." So she answers and he tells us our callings and we both were so excited, it was so fun!

I just want to know who my new SISTA is! I have been praying for her for many weeks so I am so pumped to meet her! MT PLEASANT IS WHERE IT IS AT!!!!! She is so lucky to get to meet all of the people here, it will be amazing!

My challenge for you all this week is.....to listen to the promptings of the spirit! That is something that as missionaries you are constantly doing, ALL THE TIME! Whether that be in a lesson or on the street you constantly have to be listening to the spirit! I hope as you all go about your week this week you remember that! I know that as you do so you will get answers to questions you have and you will receive guidance in your everyday lives!

I love you all very much and hope you are all doing FANTASTIC!! I love you all and will talk to you soon!!

Love, Sister Wilde

Email from the Mission President

23 January 2016

Dear Brother & Sister Wilde,
This letter is to inform you that your daughter, Sister Alyssa Bea Wilde, has been called as a trainer. One of the greatest expressions of trust a Mission President can give a missionary is to assign her as a trainer of a new missionary.  A missionary’s first companion will have a profound and lasting influence on the development of the new missionary’s attitude and habits.
We look forward to working with your daughter in this assignment.  Thank you for raising such a wonderful daughter.
Sincerely,

Michael V. Jacobsen, President
Michigan Lansing Mission

:) Hello Everyone

Note:  Sister Wilde is very excited - on Thursday she gets to travel and go to the Detroit Temple.  She is taking a family name with her.  I am sure it will be a wonderful day! xo Darcey

HEY EVERYBODY!

Man these emails I never know what to say in them. Haha!

If I am honest I don't really remember this week at all haha! We talked to so many and met so many that my mind just draws a blank each time I go to write these emails. But I will share one really cool thing that happened this week!

I have been praying for a while now to just see something amazing! I mean as a missionary you see miracles everyday! But I just wanted to find someone that has really been in need of this message.

So we went door knocking (like we do every day) and this girl opens the door. She is 19 years old and she has seen A LOT of tragedy in her life. She has had a lot of terrible things happen to her in her short 19 years of life! But I have never met anyone more prepared by the Lord to receive this message!
I love being a missionary so much!! :) Finding these people that need the gospel is amazing!
We ended up teaching her and putting her on baptism date in that lesson! Mt. Pleasant is doing amazing! Our area is great!
My challenge this week for all of you is to say one Thankful prayer to God everyday! And don't ask for anything in this one prayer but just thank him for everything he has given you!!:) It will make the difference in your week I promise!!:)
I love you all so so much! I will talk to you next Monday!
BBYYEEEE!
Love,

SISTER WILDE

GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!!! (unless it is after 12:00pm)

HOW ARE YOU ALL?!?!?!?

I don't really have much to say this week!

God has blessed us many many times that is for sure! Some how we got 14 hours and 52 minutes of door knocking in within 3 days which was a miracle in itself!

We had a great lesson this week! Well we had a lot of great lessons! One specifically was with this guy, he is an Atheist. We went in fully ready to teach the Restoration and we both just stopped and realized we cannot explain prophets until we establish that there IS a God.

We just testified so strongly the whole time and by the end of the lesson he said he thinks there could be a God. He is now saying his prayers everyday AND is reading the Book of Mormon! I could cry it makes me so happy to see him change!

I wish you all could've felt how strong the spirit was there in that lesson!!! :) It was incredible!!!

This week for my little challenge I want to challenge you all to read 2 Nephi 31! It talks all about baptism. If any of you are serving a mission make sure you are familiar with it because you use it so much as a missionary! For everyone else, read it and remember why you were baptized and those covenants you made!

I am sorry this is a short email this week but I love you all so much and hope you are doing well! I want to hear about how reading that chapter helped you this week! Again I love you all so, so, so much! Talk to you next Monday!!

Love, Sister Wilde!!! :)

This is what we call a posterity picture. The other girl is Sister Ensign's trainer and she is my "grandma" then Sister Ensign is my "mom"

I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY

Hello EVERYONE!!!!!

So like it says... Yes, it is true, I love being a missionary!!!! I finally was able to say that this week and REALLY mean it! I cannot take the credit though! Sister Ensign has been so amazing throughout this whole process and of course our Savior Jesus Christ! I testify that when we turn our will over to the Lord and we do exactly what he says life just gets better! But I truly Love being a missionary in the Michigan Lansing Mission!!!!! It is so great words cannot express how amazing it is to be here with people!!! :)

Not a lot happened this week Sister Ensign has been a little sick so we stayed inside to help her recover and get better but it has been a great week!

A miracle that we had this week was....we went door knocking and knocked into this girl named Lea. When she opened the door, we said "We are talking to people about God's Plan for them.." and she says "That is crazy my friend and I were just talking about that." So she let us in and we taught her about the Plan of Salvation and committed her to baptism and I really truly believe that she will be my first baptism in my mission!!!!!! I am so excited! I love this investigator she is just amazing!

Something funny that happened was since my comp is sick we watched the movies that are mission appropriate and in our apartment so we watched the Testaments....and hahahahahaha they were CHEESY... I cannot, I was laughing the whole time. But then the coolest thing happened at the end and the spirit just hit me so strongly...

This guy named Helam waits his whole life to meet the Savior and finally when Christ comes he is blind.  His son takes him to see Christ and he is telling Helam how amazing he is.  Then Christ comes up to him and just says "Helam" and heals his sight. I thought a lot about that and how cool it will be to meet Christ again someday. I know and I truly believe that he knows us all by name and someday when we meet him again he will call us all by name!

I hope you all know how much I love my Savior Jesus Christ and that I KNOW that the atonement of Jesus Christ is real! I challenge you all to strive to use the atonement every single day!!! It has changed me within just a week and I know it can do the same for all of you!!!!

Like always keep reading the Book of Mormon it will change your life!!!

I love you all so much and I love what I am doing!! I know it is exactly where I am supposed to be!!! I hope you all are doing great and I hope you all have an amazing week!!!

Love, Sister Wilde

MERRY CHRISTMAS/HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHAT IS UP?

I hope that you all just had the best Christmas ever!!! Hopefully Santa got to come visit you all!! I had a great Christmas! It was very unique as well!!

On Christmas Eve we did service for others, we took them gifts and cookies! We also saw this homeless man on the street and I said "Stop, let's go give that guy some cookies!!!" (Sister Ensign was driving) and so we turned around gave him cookies and got his number and we will be meeting with him soon! So that was way cool! Then we went to a members home and ate and hung out with them. We had to do this thing called "Play for Pie" basically you just do a talent, so since I am just SOOOO talented at the piano ;) I poorly played Sweet Hour Of Prayer hahahah - but I still got good treats so obviously I wasn't that bad. ;)

On Christmas I got to talk to my FAMILY!!!!!!!!!! Thats what I'm talkin' about!!!!::::)))) So much fun! We Skyped at May's home, he is the ward mission leader, it was so much fun! After that we went and napped, haha lame I know.  But I wasn't even mad, if I can get some extra sleep I won't complain! hahaha!  Then we went and had Christmas dinner with the Hammers! And OH MY GOODNESS EVERYBODY her...food...was....BOMB!!!!! It was so good! Christmas was wonderful to say the least!

Not a ton happened this week, we did go door knocking over by Lake Isabella and the air is a bit colder by the lake! The lake water make my hair grow I'm pretty sure (A joke in our mission, haha ;)) Anyways, while knocking, a lady let us in and made us hot chocolate and had us sit and hang out with her! She was so cool!

Then that same day the very last home we knocked on was this Jewish man and he wasn't interested in being a Mormon but he LOVES the Mormons. He just kept chanting "GO MORMONS..GO MORMONS!" HAHA then he joked about Christmas and was like "I'm a Jew what the heck am I supposed to do during Christmas break?" haha oh man I wanted that guy to be my best friend! hahaha Sister Ensign and I were laughing so hard!

So my last little thing for this week...I want to challenge you all to read Alma 26! I'm not going to give anything away BUT!!! I want to say that life is hard...life is really hard sometimes..harder then we hope it would be at times. But in this chapter it talks about how we can be strengthened by the Lord and how we can be blessed! So I strongly encourage you all to read that chapter because it is so good!!!:) I testify that reading the Book of Mormon brings miracles and it will bring peace and comfort to your life I know that because it has brought that to mine!!

I love all of you so much and I thank you for your love and support! It means the world to me and I thank you for trying to make my Christmas special because it was special!! I hope you have a great rest of your week and I cannot wait to talk to you all!!!!!

TWO MONTHS!

HEY EVERYBODY!!!!!

So this weeks email will probably be shorter because nothing that cool happened this week!  We door knocked A LOT, well like two days, but it felt like that is all we did haha...it was great though!

I wish I had more cool stuff to tell you all about! Since its like the week before Christmas we haven't really taught a lot just knocked on doors and visited people, it has been way fun!

Today is extra special though because it is my.....TWO MONTHS MARK!!!!!!!!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!!:)

I am so happy, it is great! I love meeting all of the people her in the big MP!!!! I wish that you all could meet the members here they are so amazing! They make me feel so at home and they give us so much and serve us so much they are amazing!

One cool thing that happened this week was - we knocked on this old woman's door and she opens and is like "Are you soliciting?" and I said "No we are actually sharing a message about Jesus Christ and how we can feel His love this Christmas season." and she is like "Oh! Well come in!:)"  So we go in and she just feeds us all of these cookies and lets us hang out with her for a good 20 minutes! Haha! That was so fun and she was a sweetheart. Wasn't really interested in being a Mormon but was still so cool!:)

That's about it for this week but I have some pictures for you all!:)  I also will share a quote Sister Ensign shared with me this week and I really like it.

Stick to your task, till it sticks to you
Beginners are many,
But enders are few,
Honor Power Place and Praise,
Come in time of him that stays.

Stick to your task, till it sticks to you,
Bend at it, Sweat at it, Smile at it too
For out of the bend, the sweat, and the smile
Will come life victories after a while!

I have loved this and I hope you all do too!!! I love you all so so so so so much! I hope that you all just have such a Merry Christmas and remember to read Luke 2!!!:::)))

Love, Sister Wilde

Transfers!

Hey, Hey Everybody!!

How are you all? I mean that is a pretty open question haha, but if you guys were doing bad I would hope you would tell me so I can do something to help you out! But for the time being I am going to assume you are all doing pretty good!!!

So this week was crazyyyyyy fun!!!:) Sister Ensign and I just laughed all week it was awesome!

(Sorry my emails are so ADHD haha but I hope that you all enjoy reading them!)

So first thing is last P-Day we went to Frankenmuth which is a German town with the world's largest CHRISTmas store. I know, just the most random thing in MICHIGAN! It was awesome!

Here is kind of the funny story for this week! So we are out door knocking right? Just the usual missionary life you know? I see these two guys getting stuff out of their truck so we walk over there and I say, "Hey!  Can we help you two with anything?" And he was like "YES!" So we go over and he hands us these little rakes and this tub thing with a garbage bag in it. So I say, "Oh are we raking leaves?" To which I get no response...We walk over around this house and he points down and says..."This is Dog Poo Poo.." hahaha oh my goodness I could only imagine Sister Ensign wanted to kill me about then, haha! Anyways we start shoveling it in, I'm laughing and Sister Ensign is gagging! Hahah, so hilarious! Then the man walks over and gives us....I kid you not....A...20...minute...sermon!!! THEN proceeds to tell us that we do not believe in Jesus Christ! I am like, HEY LISTEN HERE, YOU BETTER BELIEVE THAT I WOULD NOT BE CLEANING UP THIS NASTY DOG POO IF I DIDN'T BELIEVE IN THE SAVIOR. Oh my goodness it was ridiculous and funny. And also one of the reasons to love being a missionary.

Then the best thing ever happened! We received this referral for Grand Rapids, and as some of you might know that is where my friend, Elder Lundell is serving. So I am thinking we call the AP's and give them the referral and we call and they tell us that we can just call the Grand Rapids Elders. So we call, and Sister Ensign says "How crazy would it be if he answered and said -Hi This is Elder Lundell." Two seconds later on the other end of the phone I hear..."Hello This is Elder Lundell!" I just freaked out that was the highlight of my week for sure! Hearing a familiar voice and talking to one of my good friends just made my whole day!! We only got to talk for 10 minutes but it was so great!! It made me smile!

I had my first transfer calls, and of course I am staying in the big MP!!!!:) I love it here, I never want to leave! It is so great and the people are all so amazing!!!:::)))

Also this week, we got to be a part of Calie's baptism.  She has had her date to be baptized almost a year.  The Elders worked with her and she wanted to be baptized on her 20th birthday and she was!  It was so great.

One of my favorite things we did this week was go and sing Christmas carols at the Alzheimer's unit of the hospital.  While we were there a sweet lady yelled out, "Hey my name is Linda!" So we walk over to her and she goes "HEY I KNOW YOU, YOU GO TO MY CHURCH!" and Sister Ensign and I are just like "Why are you in here?" We aren't really sure why she was there, but it was so fun to spend time with her and the other patients. She is the cutest little thing, she told me I need to gain a few pounds that it will sweeten me up! Hahahaha! She just kept telling me she loved me and how sweet we were, she is the cutest!

Just know that I am doing so good out here! I love every minute of being a missionary even if those minutes are hard!! I encourage and challenge you all to read Luke 2 as a family this Christmas season!! I know it will bring the spirit of Christ into your homes!!!:)

Remember the real reason for this holiday season which is the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!:)

I love you all so so so so much!!!! I love hearing form you of course! Keep me updated on your life! Until next week, I love you!!!

Love, Sister Wilde
