MISSIONARY WORK IS GREAT!

HEEEEYYYYYYYYYYY!

WOAH.....That is my only word for this week is woah...

As I said in my last email I am a trainer...yea I know, what were they thinking right?

I just got out of my training a little while ago so it is great. It is a little crazy but I love every minute of it. For anyone that is wondering, no I have not cried yet...I have however almost cried about 3 times but I just make myself laugh really hard, hahaha and then everything is great! I love being a missionary though so I have nothing to cry about!! I am on the Lords errand! And I love it so much!

Not a lot to report about this week! But I got my TRAINEE on Thursday! Her name is Sister Burk and she is from Arizona, but the mountain part so she gets snow. But, I know that it is nothing like the great state of Michigan snow!;) She is great, she makes me laugh haha, so it is pretty fun!

One cool thing that we did this week was we went up to Lake Isabella to Door Knock and NO ONE was answering the door. I was mad that no one was answering so I was like forget this, there are people ice fishing on the lake! So we are going on the frozen lake to PC (personal contact) these people ice fishing! So we went and Sister Burk was soo scared haha I could not stop laughing! There was a pretty good crack right down the center of the ice which was fun hahah but we got 3 phone numbers which was awesome!:)

Then this guy was not having our message, he was not interested all! But I was like "Hey would it be okay if I took a picture with all of your ice fishing stuff?" and he was like "YES THAT IS GREAT!" So there are some pictures of me "ice fishing" - I was being a fisher of men. ;)

Then last night we were talking to some other missionaries who said that we aren't allowed to do that, which I didn't know that was a rule. But I can't help but think that maybe those three people really needed our message! It was such a fun day!:)

This week I want you all to read Mormon 9!! I read it the other morning and it is such a good chapter of The Book of Mormon! I love the Book of Mormon it truly is the "BOM" Haha sorry lame joke... but it is great and I want you all to know that for yourselves!!! I love you all so so so so so much!!:) I hope you are doing amazing!

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

Love, Sister Wilde

:) Hello Everyone

Note:  Sister Wilde is very excited - on Thursday she gets to travel and go to the Detroit Temple.  She is taking a family name with her.  I am sure it will be a wonderful day! xo Darcey

HEY EVERYBODY!

Man these emails I never know what to say in them. Haha!

If I am honest I don't really remember this week at all haha! We talked to so many and met so many that my mind just draws a blank each time I go to write these emails. But I will share one really cool thing that happened this week!

I have been praying for a while now to just see something amazing! I mean as a missionary you see miracles everyday! But I just wanted to find someone that has really been in need of this message.

So we went door knocking (like we do every day) and this girl opens the door. She is 19 years old and she has seen A LOT of tragedy in her life. She has had a lot of terrible things happen to her in her short 19 years of life! But I have never met anyone more prepared by the Lord to receive this message!
I love being a missionary so much!! :) Finding these people that need the gospel is amazing!
We ended up teaching her and putting her on baptism date in that lesson! Mt. Pleasant is doing amazing! Our area is great!
My challenge this week for all of you is to say one Thankful prayer to God everyday! And don't ask for anything in this one prayer but just thank him for everything he has given you!!:) It will make the difference in your week I promise!!:)
I love you all so so much! I will talk to you next Monday!
BBYYEEEE!
Love,

GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!!! (unless it is after 12:00pm)

HOW ARE YOU ALL?!?!?!?

I don't really have much to say this week!

God has blessed us many many times that is for sure! Some how we got 14 hours and 52 minutes of door knocking in within 3 days which was a miracle in itself!

We had a great lesson this week! Well we had a lot of great lessons! One specifically was with this guy, he is an Atheist. We went in fully ready to teach the Restoration and we both just stopped and realized we cannot explain prophets until we establish that there IS a God.

We just testified so strongly the whole time and by the end of the lesson he said he thinks there could be a God. He is now saying his prayers everyday AND is reading the Book of Mormon! I could cry it makes me so happy to see him change!

I wish you all could've felt how strong the spirit was there in that lesson!!! :) It was incredible!!!

This week for my little challenge I want to challenge you all to read 2 Nephi 31! It talks all about baptism. If any of you are serving a mission make sure you are familiar with it because you use it so much as a missionary! For everyone else, read it and remember why you were baptized and those covenants you made!

I am sorry this is a short email this week but I love you all so much and hope you are doing well! I want to hear about how reading that chapter helped you this week! Again I love you all so, so, so much! Talk to you next Monday!!

Love, Sister Wilde!!! :)

This is what we call a posterity picture. The other girl is Sister Ensign's trainer and she is my "grandma" then Sister Ensign is my "mom"

I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY

Hello EVERYONE!!!!!

So like it says... Yes, it is true, I love being a missionary!!!! I finally was able to say that this week and REALLY mean it! I cannot take the credit though! Sister Ensign has been so amazing throughout this whole process and of course our Savior Jesus Christ! I testify that when we turn our will over to the Lord and we do exactly what he says life just gets better! But I truly Love being a missionary in the Michigan Lansing Mission!!!!! It is so great words cannot express how amazing it is to be here with people!!! :)

Not a lot happened this week Sister Ensign has been a little sick so we stayed inside to help her recover and get better but it has been a great week!

A miracle that we had this week was....we went door knocking and knocked into this girl named Lea. When she opened the door, we said "We are talking to people about God's Plan for them.." and she says "That is crazy my friend and I were just talking about that." So she let us in and we taught her about the Plan of Salvation and committed her to baptism and I really truly believe that she will be my first baptism in my mission!!!!!! I am so excited! I love this investigator she is just amazing!

Something funny that happened was since my comp is sick we watched the movies that are mission appropriate and in our apartment so we watched the Testaments....and hahahahahaha they were CHEESY... I cannot, I was laughing the whole time. But then the coolest thing happened at the end and the spirit just hit me so strongly...

This guy named Helam waits his whole life to meet the Savior and finally when Christ comes he is blind.  His son takes him to see Christ and he is telling Helam how amazing he is.  Then Christ comes up to him and just says "Helam" and heals his sight. I thought a lot about that and how cool it will be to meet Christ again someday. I know and I truly believe that he knows us all by name and someday when we meet him again he will call us all by name!

I hope you all know how much I love my Savior Jesus Christ and that I KNOW that the atonement of Jesus Christ is real! I challenge you all to strive to use the atonement every single day!!! It has changed me within just a week and I know it can do the same for all of you!!!!

Like always keep reading the Book of Mormon it will change your life!!!

I love you all so much and I love what I am doing!! I know it is exactly where I am supposed to be!!! I hope you all are doing great and I hope you all have an amazing week!!!

Love, Sister Wilde

HEEEELLLLLOOOOO!!!!! :)

Hey everyone!!!!!!

I hope that all of you are doing so well!

There isn't a lot to report. Pretty basic, a couple of cool things happened but for the most part it felt like a pretty basic missionary week.

We did 15 hours of door knocking this week and teach lessons and all that good stuff, haha!  A few people said yes, a lot of people said no. Just kind of the same old thing!

So, a cool experience did happen-

We stopped by an investigator's house to see how she was doing. Her and her two daughters are on date to be baptized. While we are there, the father of the two daughters introduces himself, and we are like "Ya my name is Sister Wilde...etc." Then while we are in talking to the women, he says "ARE YOU THE LDS MISSIONARY GIRLS?" and of course we are like "Yes we are!" he says "Do you have a Mormon Bible that I can have?" I am like HECK YA!... but I really kept it cool and said "For sure I've got one right here." :)

Then he keeps talking saying how he had met with missionaries like 10 years ago. He lives in a trailer park and those are almost always No Trespassing- so of course we aren't able to go to those. I don't mind knocking trailer parks, we just can't because of the no trespassing...But this experience taught us again that if someone is ready for the gospel, God will bring them to us hahah ;)

ANYWAYSSSSS.... He says "So how can I become an Elder? (missionary) " and we explain you would need to be baptized and married. He literally is so prepared by the Lord it is unreal. He says "WAHOOO GO MORMONS!!!" then he said "Ya I hope my life keeps taking me in this direction because I want to be a member of your church, I want to be baptized."   It was literally so cool!!!!!!

So even though it was a pretty average week it was great too, that experience was awesome. Seeing people being prepared by the Lord is one of the greatest things to see as a missionary. Knowing that there are people who need this gospel and who are truly looking for it is why I am on a mission!  I love the people of Mt Pleasant. Of all places I could've gone... Europe, Australia, New Zealand, I am called to Lansing Michigan in Mt. Pleasant. It truly shows that there are specific people that I have been called here to serve and I love it and I love this work!

I love all of you so much and I challenge you all to read from Luke this holiday season. Learn more of the life of Jesus Christ and remember that Jesus is the Reason for the Season.

Thank you for your prayers! Please keep praying for our investigators, I know they can use them as well as Sister Ensign and I!!!!!

Keep letting me know how you all are doing!

Until next Monday:) I LLOOVVEE YYYOOOUUU GGUUYYSSS!!!!!! :)

HEY HEY HEY!!

HELLO HAPPY CHRISTMAS OR THANKSGIVING I DONT KNOW! :)

I hope everyone is having a great week! And I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving!

This week I spent Thanksgiving with a family, the Harrast's, and they just treated us like their own! They are the best! I love them like my own family they are soooo cool!

I had my first trade offs this week with a sister named Sister Foster and she is unreal!!!! I would love to have her as a companion someday! She was awesome!

Something great that happened this week was we were out PC (personal contacting) and we were walking down the street to an appointment when this HUGE guy is walking towards us, so of course missionaries leave no stone unturned...so we talk to him and his name is Andrew.  He was down to talk, we learned that he had been in prison and is a year sober from drugs and he was so cool!!!!!! He was super interested in the church so i just said (after talking to him for 3 minutes) "Andrew when you come to find these things are true will you follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized by someone holding the proper authority?" and he just goes.."Yes I will." and my heart was like WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED?!?!? Hahaha it was amazing such a great experience, and I am excited to see him embrace the gospel!

We also met some Jehovah Witness missionaries. I was talking to this man and women and Sister Ensign was talking to some others and I started to teach them from the Book of Mormon and taught 1 Nephi 3:7 and it was cool! I mean I didn't convert them, but it was still a great experience!

Oh man haha then on Friday...that was an interesting day! We basically got beat down all day haha, but it was for sure a testimony builder for me. There was this old man who told us we believed a lie and all this other stuff he was going off. I just said "Well Sir, I agree to disagree I guess. I hope you have a great day!" and we walked away and I'm sure he was still saying stuff to us as we walked away, but yea that was a new experience for me.

GARY IS GETTING BAPTIZED IN LIKE 3 WEEKS!!!!!  AHHHHH I'M SO EXCITED!! I wish everyone could know Gary, he is so cool. But yes we have 8 people on date! Gary is the closest to getting baptized and it is so great! I love that guy!!!!  He was feeling lonely and we had a whole pumpkin pie, I said to Sister Ensign that we should take him the pie and when we did his face just lit up.  Also today, I suggested we buy a few Christmas decorations for his apartment and we are going to go help him decorate today.

I wanted to share one thing with you all before I go, something someone told me in the MTC.. "It's a bad day, not a bad life."  With this week being a little tougher it was a blessing for me to know that and to remember that quote throughout the week!

Anyways I truly love every single on of you! I want to keep hearing from you all so keep writing me (I know I say that every week but it really does make the difference!) Plus I want to hear what is new and what is going on! I love you so much and please keep praying for our investigators! I know they need your prayers! You are all amazing, I love you guys so much! Until next Monday!!

Love, Sister Wilde

ONE MONTH DOOOWWNN!!! :)

HELLO EVERYBODY!!!!

I hope you all are doing well! I love hearing from all of you and I hope you all keep writing me so I can know what is going on in your lives and so that I can know if any of you need anything!! :)

So this week I actually made a list so that I could remember everything!

Okay so first I want to tell you about one of our investigators. She is her own person let me tell ya! But I love her!!! So this week I learned what a "Holy Roller" is. For those of you who do not know what a "Holy Roller" is...it is someone who believes in the "Gift of Tongues" and that isn't like being able to speak a different language, it is like speaking straight gibberish. And so many people outside of Utah think that it is real thing. I didn't know that our investigator thought this was a thing either, until we were in Relief Society and I am hearing something that isn't words and its like confusing and I don't know.. haha. So, that is something we have to work on with her and teach her how to pray correctly and why "the gift of tongues" as she knows it is not a thing. So if ANY OF YOU have advice on how to teach someone how to pray that would be awesome!

Oh yes ALSO this was so cool! We have a less active member that we teach and we keep inviting her to church and every time we do she says - you know I am too tired, or I need to do this, I need to do that, and so we always invite but don't expect her to be there. Then at church on Sunday, Sister Ensign and I spoke and I'm leaning over saying something to her and I just stop mid sentence and I see this less active sister walk in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were freaking out and so excited!!!! She said to us that on her way to church she slipped on ice and was about to turn around and go home but she just felt like she needed to be at church that day! And it was so awesome!!! AHHH!! I loved it. I am telling you guys, exact obedience brings miracles, it truly does!!!!!

Then we have Mr. Armstrong. He is just the coolest 61 year old man. I love him. He is our investigator that is the closest to getting baptized. Like his date is set in stone and he is ready to enter the waters of baptism! We taught him Chastity and The Word of Wisdom this week and that was a little scary. When you teach those things it is so rare that someone doesn't have a problem with one of them but he always says "If that's what God wants me to do I'm going to do it." HE IS THE COOLEST!!!!!!!!!

I got my first legitimate door slammed in face yesterday, it was great.  I said "Hi, we are your missionaries..." and she said "No you're not", slammed the door and I started busting up laughing and just was like "okay it's only your salvation ;) " Sister Ensign was worried I was going to cry or something, but I just smiled.

There are a few less actives and investigators that can just use your prayers right now for the strength to overcome whatever is stopping them from certain things. I know that you all are praying for them and I appreciate it so much and I know they can feel your prayers as well!!!:)

So I had my first FALL in Michigan I actually lasted A LOT longer then I thought it would. Haha!  I just slipped on ice, haha - gracefully of course ;)

The other day was the first snow! And on the first snow all of our appointments cancelled so we went out and door knocked for about 5 hours in the snow!  It actually was so fun. There were so many times that I thought "I should be so miserable right now" but I wasn't, I was just loving it so much. The only bummer was we knocked for all that time and we talked to about 38 people but only got one phone number. But it was still good!

I just am so amazed at how often people look so familiar to me. It feels like I knew them in the pre-earth life and they told me I had to come find them. Or like even the members I feel like they told me that when I got to Michigan they were going to take care of me. It is just so amazing and I love them all.

I love my companion too!  We get along so good and she is just so great!

I want to share one quote with you all: "Those who set aside the bottle of bitterness and lift instead the goblet of gratitude can find a purifying drink of healing peace and understanding."

In honor of Thanksgiving I hope that we all can do this this week and even after. Remember the things that we are grateful for! I know one thing I am grateful for is ALL OF YOU!!!

I can feel your prayers all of the time! You are all so amazing and I love everyone of you!!!! Keep writing me it makes my Mondays so happy!! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!!

Love, Sister Wilde

HEEEELLLLLOOOOOO!!!

ALRIGHT HELLO EVERYBODY!!!!!!!

How are we all doing?! I hope that you are all doing nothing short of AMAZING!!!!

So this week wow there are so many things I want to tell you all about. So first I want to tell you all about some of our investigators. The first one his name is Gary and he is 61. He is just the sweetest old man and he will do whatever God wants him to. He is one of the most faithful people I have ever met. His baptism is December 19th. We are teaching him the Word Of Wisdom this week so I am just praying he doesn't have a problem with it so he can be baptized on that date.He is seriously the coolest guy I cannot even begin to explain the love I have for him and all the people here in Mt. Pleasant.

The next one I want to tell you all about is Michael. This is not miracle Michael from last week.  Michael is 27 years old and has a problem with the Word of Wisdom. He really wants to be baptized though and you can feel that he does. But because he hasn't stopped drinking and smoking we had to change his baptism date and we let him choose the date he wants to be baptized and he chose February 6th he said that is when he really thinks he can cut out everything. So if you can keep Michael in your prayers that would be amazing!

The next one I want to talk about is Denise.....oh Denise hahaha that women has caused me one too many headaches. But I love her. She is a chain smoker she started at smoking 2 packs a day and now is down to only 6 cigarettes which is AMAZING progress! But she is very passionate about things that we cant change I guess? Her prayers make me laugh she always says "Dear Father God" and Sister E and I have to just giggle. She is one of the most giving ladies that I have ever met though! Wow she truly is so amazing! She has a strong faith but its frustrating because sometimes the things she says like don't make sense and they aren't teachings from the church so that's kinda a battle but she is great hahaha she has one date but we have to change hers as well due to the smoking!

Everyone here in Michigan claims to have visions so that's interesting. But great all the people here are wonderful!
So two cool things that happened this week. The first one is we were going to an appointment with this lady Mary and she cancelled so we were standing on the sidewalk and Sister E was kinda stressed and I was just looking around and saw this family of three raking leaves in their front yard (there are thousands of leaves in Michigan) and I said to Sister E "We need to go help that family rake their leaves" and we go over there. It's fun, we are talking with them and we do a few other service things with them and then just end up teaching the Plan of Salvation and that was so awesome.

We ended up teaching them a lesson on Saturday and that went really well we got the Mom AND the two other daughters on baptism date which is so cool!!! Then this was awesome right after the lesson we get a phone call from a number we don't know and we say hello and he asks if its someone that it wasn't because he had the wrong number (but God gave him the right number (; ) then we say "Well we are actually missionaries." and he goes "Yea I can just feel your energy right now!" and we are both like laughing like what is happening hahaha then he says "I truly feel like you have my best interest at heart!" and we are like yea we do! hahaha and we asked him if he would like to learn more and meet with us and he said yes I'd love to! So yea that was another awesome thing that happened hahaha.

I also had a meal in a trailer in a trailer park and that was different hahaha but so great at the same time the mans name is Brother B it was way cool.

I am loving it here just remember to keep our investigators in your prayers! I know they can use them! Also read the Book of Mormon I know that it is truly the word of God! I want to challenge all of you to read it! I have seen it change peoples lives! I love every single one of you! Keep writing me I love to hear from you all it is such a blessing for me to hear from you!!!!

Remember everything works out in the end and if it doesn't work out its not the end!! I love you all! Until next Monday :)

Love, Sister Wilde

After church Sister M saw they were walking (about an hour walk from the church to their apartment)
and offered them a ride in her cop car.  You can guess how grateful they were! :)

Raking the many leaves in Michigan, service brings blessings!

Yep, it is already cold in Michigan!
